Fiji's
northern group of islands provides one of the most pristine destinations in the South Pacific. Matangi Island is
situated in yesterday; so close to the 180th meridian that yesterdays blend into today with a serenity that is
found nowhere else. The Douglas family have opened their 240 acre private island to a select few discerning guests
that join the growing number of new "family" members that call Matangi home. The horseshoe shaped island
wraps around a lagoon of pure aquamarine, blended together with the verdant colors of the rainforest and the striking
rim of white sand beaches. A beauty that can only be captured by the eye.
Whether you come to these shores to swim, snorkel, scuba dive, sail, fish, hike, or just sit on the beach reading
a good book and recharging your soul, you will find it all here...and more.
Bure
The traditional Fijian style accommodations with all the luxuries of home, each bure has a ceiling fan, mini bar
stocked with fresh ice water, local beers, soft drinks, and wine. Coffee and tea making facilities are available
and feature locally grown Fijian coffee. 
Each
bure has a queen size bed, a living room area, private verandah with lounge chairs and a private bath with a shower
access. Fresh bath towels are provided twice daily. Fiji is on 220 cycle electricity so a converter and three prong
plug is necessary if you plan to use hairdryers or razors. Complimentary laundry service is included during your
stay and a basket is provided in your bure for soiled clothing. Clean cloths are returned within 24 hours. Each
bure can accommodate a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children under 16 years of age, or 3 adults. There are a total
of 13 bures, 7 deluxe, 4 standard and 2 treehouses. 
The Domoni Treehouses have been created especially for couples. The treehouse bures are built 30 feet off the ground in a large Pacific
Almond tree and offer superb views across the Tasman Straits to the islands of Taveuni and Vanua Levu. These bures
are not only great for a honeymoon getaway, but are ideal for that special birthday or anniversary.
Dining
All, meals, snacks, coffee and tea are included in your meal plan. Mealtime is heralded by the beating of the lali
drum. Special dietary requirements can be accommodated, please advise us when you make your reservations.
