General Information and Activities
Clothing - The island is very casual so resort or beach wear is appropriate at all times and makes for light packing.
Childcare - Childcare services are available for families with children and it is also complimentary. Cribs are available for infants.
The Activities Club - is located on the beach and is the base for all water activities, diving and aqua equipment. Additionally, the activities guide operates from this area and is available anytime for questions. There are a variety of complimentary resort activities:
• Picnics in Horseshoe Bay for that romantic day on your honeymoon or family outings with a BBQ.
• Village cultural tours to neighboring islands for an intimate experience with the Fijian way of life. Learn about village life, the importance of the garden and experience a traditional Kava ceremony.

Bouma waterfall trek and picnic gives you the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful waterfalls and swim in the refreshing freshwater pools.
• A hike to the higher waterfalls affords visitors with a panoramic view of the nearby islands and a Fijian village.

Water-skiing is available featuring O'Brien skis and bogey boards.
•
Snorkeling is excellent on nearby reef. Complimentary equipment and guides are provided.
Paddle boats and sea kayaks are available for a relaxing, quiet cruise around the island
Hobie cats provide a thrilling sailing experience.

Windsurfing is available with sails for the beginner or advanced.
Beach towels and mats are available at the beach hut.

Bushwalks around Matangi and the neighboring island of Qamea are self-guided or escorted by a local guide.

Diving - Experience the world class diving on reefs and walls that are covered with a myriad of soft and hard corals. All sites are 20 to 45 minutes from the resort. Two dive boats are featured, the Lady Christene and the Marama Ni Matangi, each comfortably accommodating 10 divers. A variety of dive packages are available with weights and belts included. Night dives and afternoon boat dives can be booked at the resort for an additional charge. Enjoy the unlimited complimentary shore diving. All divers must provide a valid certification card before diving. Dive certification classes are also available. Saltwater Fishing Light tackle sportfishing aboard the 25 ft. Tui Matagi speedboat (115 h.p.) includes all gear at an hourly rate of $45.
Shore fishing is complimentary.
Communications - All fax or phone messages will be placed in your bure. Fax machines and phones are available for guest use at the office and charges will be posted to your account. There is daily mail service to Taveuni.
Payments - There are no monetary transactions during your stay at Matangi. All purchases and charges will be debited to your bure account and will be finalized at your departure. Final payments may be paid by travelers checks, cash or credit card. Amex, Diners Club, Visa and Mastercard are accepted.
Tipping - Individual tipping is discouraged. If you would like to leave a gratuity, you may contribute to the staff Christmas Fund.
Weddings - Weddings and renewal of wedding vows can be arranged on Matangi.
Boutique - The boutique is located next to the office and is stocked with toiletries, casual designer fashions, post cards, stamps, film, batteries, locally grown Fijian coffee, and various pharmaceutical items.
