Galapagos Aggressors I & II
When you step off the plane in Galapagos, you are entering a magical world. The wonders of Galapagos will unfold before your eyes during the Thursday to Thursday adventure. The on-board, multi-lingual guides will share their in-depth knowledge of these volcanic islands. Diving begins Friday and ends Wednesday morning. Three islands will be explored through land tours during the week. Snorkeling and bird watching excursions are also conducted between dives. Every Galapagos Aggressor I & II charter includes thrilling shark dives at remote Wolf and Darwin Islands. Beginner divers may find Galapagos diving challenging. Thursday morning check-out is 8:00 a.m. The Galapagos Aggressors operate out of San Cristobal year round. The port of departure does not affect the diving or land tour itinerary. The port of departure is determined by the Galapagos National Park.
The 100-foot
Galapagos Aggressor I and Galapagos Aggressor II are sister ships custom
built and designed 
particularly
for cruising the Archipelago of Galapagos. Both are beautifully decorated
inside with teak wood creating a rich, nautical atmosphere. Built by Varadero
Mena Ship Yard in Guayaquil, Ecuador, these 14-passenger vessels comply
with all international safety standards. In early 2000, each yacht was
renovated, enlarged and all mechanical equipment was overhauled. They
may be chartered with crew to accommodate any special itineraries. All
itineraries are approved by the National Parks Service of the Galapagos
Islands.
There
are seven luxurious air-conditioned staterooms, each with two berths.
Four staterooms are located on the lower level and three are on the upper
level. Stateroom features include: private head and shower, individual
climate control, a cassette 
stereo
system and a port window, which offers great views and plenty of natural
light. Your cabin is just steps away from the main salon, dining room
and dive deck. The salon, located on the main level, is an attractively
furnished area designed for comfort and relaxation.
The salon features a complete entertainment center with large screen TV, VCR, stereo with compact disc player, and a well stocked library of books and magazines. The on board bartender/waiter offers full bar service. The dining area is separate from the main salon and has three individual private table and chair combinations. Dinners are served to guests at their table. Snacks and refreshments are also served to guests on the dive deck and sun deck. Large windows offer a great view during meals.
Exiting
the salon and traveling toward the stern of the Galapagos Aggressors,
guests enter the large dive deck. Each guest has his/her own dive station
with locker for gear storage. The lockers are actually seats used for
donning and removing gear. Air tanks are conveniently located on the back
of locker, always hooked up and ready for diving. All tanks are filled
in place with either air or nitrox. A large, carpeted camera table with
low pressure air nozzles, battery charging area, camera rinse tank and
wet suit racks are located on this spacious deck. There is a dive briefing
area for drawing dive site illustrations and giving site details. A toilet
is located on this deck. A large platform is only a few inches from sea
level and one step down from the well laid out dive deck. Most diving
is done from inflatables, which are safely boarded in calm water. The
attentive crew members will assist you when boarding. When diving or snorkeling
is done from the mother ship, entries are made easily with a giant stride
and exiting is simple with the aid of a ladder extending underwater. After
your dive, rinse with a warm freshwater shower on the dive platform. An
E-6 film processing lab is on board along with a full line of underwater
camera rental equipment. Film, batteries, and an underwater video system
are available on board. The photo pro is eager to give tips or a comprehensive
course with specialty certification.
Soak up some sun on one of two spacious sun decks with deck chairs and chaise lounges. Level three is a partially covered deck for those who prefer shade and a good book. Level four is all sun with built-in seating areas and a spectacular view. Between dives you can relax in the soothing jacuzzi.
For nature lovers and the adventurous, there's no more fascinating destination than the Galapagos Islands-and no better way to explore it than from the aboard the islands' finest dive yachts, the 14-passenger Galapagos Aggressor I and Galapagos Aggressor II. The Galapagos Islands, situated 600 miles west of Ecuador in the Pacific Ocean, comprise 19 main islands and several small islands. These volcanic islands are the birthplace of Charles Darwin's "Theory of Evolution." They are protected as a national park and one of the world's largest marine reserves.
If you
arrive in Baltra on Thursday, a crew member will greet you at the Baltra
airport and drive you to the boat. There is a check-out dive Thursday
afternoon near Baltra followed by a delicious dinner served by the onboard
chef. Friday morning the Aggressor moves to the first of many excellent
dives sites. Divers are awakened by the smells of coffee and a home-cooked
breakfast. After a dive briefing, the pool is open.
Throughout
the week, you'll encounter a spectacular array of animal and plant species,
many found no where else in the world. Penguins, marine iguanas, sea lions,
golden rays, mantas and turtles are just of a fraction of the marine creatures
you'll see at dive sites off Seymour, Santiago, Santa Cruz, 
Darwin
and Wolf Islands. Galapagos is best know for its pelagics such as dolphins,
pilot whales and sharks-lots of sharks! These rocky islands are a magnet
for silky, Galapagos, white-tip and hammerhead sharks by the hundreds.
Whale sharks are also frequently encountered on Galapagos Aggressor charters.Then
on land excursions, you'll discover giant tortoises, blue-footed boobies
and flamingos, while an experienced naturalist helps interpret the unique
eco-systems. You may want to capture some of the Galapagos' beauty on
film with one of the onboard rental underwater cameras. There is a full
line of rental camera equipment and dive gear available throughout the
week, as well as certification and specialty courses.
Wednesday
afternoon, the Galapagos Aggressors dock in Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz.
Guests will visit the Charles Darwin Research Station. Wednesday evening
the crew hosts a cocktail party. After the party, everyone will dine at
a local restaurant.This is the only meal not included in the charter.
At midnight, the Aggressors set off for San Cristobal. Check-out is 9:00
a.m Thursday morning. If you are flying out Thursday morning, the crew
will arrange your transportation to the San Cristobal airport. Due to
cooler water temperatures and strong currents, the diving conditions in
Galapagos may not be suitable for beginner divers.
