M/V Bilikiki, Solomon Islands, July 7-17, 2012

Join us for a phenomenal adventure onboard. Consistently rated among the elite liveaboards in the world, the MV Bilikiki will be home for ten luxurious nights while diving the Solomon Islands, located in the South Pacific 1500 miles west of Fiji, 1200 miles northeast of Australia, and just a few degrees below the Equator. There are no monsoons this close to the Equator and when it does rain, it blows off quickly. So every day will be a picture postcard kind of day.

The MV Bilikiki homeport is in Honiara, on Guadalcanal Island, and sails to dive sites in the Florida Islands, the Russell Islands, Mborokua (Mary) Island and Marovo Lagoon in the New Georgia Islands. The amount and variety of sea life is outstanding. From Pygmy Seahorses to large pelages, you will have the opportunity to see and photograph them all in the crystal clear, warm South Pacific. The crew of the MV Bilikiki does not hinder divers with a lot of dive restrictions. Dive as many times as your computer and past dive profiles permit. Just bring extra batteries for your photo gear.

The Solomon Islands were the site of major World War II naval battles and a lot of war ships, both American and Japanese, were sunk. The most famous was the Battle of Guadalcanal in 1942, where the US Atlanta took a direct hit on its bridge from a Japanese Zero. The captain got all his surviving crew off and scuttled her. You’ll get to explore a few other war ships and support vessels in the Marovo Lagoon.
